The Holy Father announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every twenty five years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ and it will be a year of hope for a world of suffering, the impacts of war and the climate crisis. We launched the day during an assembly led by Mrs. Wroblewski on Friday 24th January. We continued the day with a morning of art, all the children showed hope through their artwork. In HRSE, we continued our prayer and reflection theme and wrote our own prayers of hope.
In English, we learnt about a new form of poetry – haiku and we have been writing a class poem on the theme of water. Next week, the children will plan and write their own poem on the theme of winter. In maths, we continued learning about fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator.
I have also attached some photographs from the second part of our fieldwork trip. The children were amazed at how a slight change to the environment, for example, erosion could lead to flooding and discussed ways that we could prevent flooding. In class, we explored ways to decrease pollution and worked as part of a team to develop a plan of how we could improve the climate crisis.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Clack
