Hi everybody - been a while so wanted to give an update on what we are learning about in Willow Class!
In maths, the children have been working really hard on addition to 10. They’re becoming much more confident with writing their own number sentences and creating fact families of four. It’s been great to see them using cubes and counters to check their ideas and explain their thinking more clearly.
In English, we’ve been focusing on Zog. The class has started writing their own versions of the story, and today we did some role play to help them remember the key events. They did such a brilliant job recalling lines and using repeated phrases from the text - lots of enthusiasm and some very confident performances!
We’ve also begun our new history topic: The Great Fire of London. The children are already really engaged and full of questions. We’ve talked about where the fire started and what London was like in 1666, and we’ll be exploring much more over the next few weeks.
Thank you for your work at home, and I’ll aim to keep updates coming a little more regularly again.
