We have had a very busy week with a trip to London and celebrating David Attenborough's 100th birthday.
We heard the story about the Naughty Bus and built our own big red London bus. We learnt how we would need a ticket to travel which we would need to buy before we could go on our journey. To arrive at our destination we created our story map and thought what the bus would see in Preston before thinking about travelling all the way to London. We made and paid for our ticket before waiting at the bus stop hoping there was a seat for us. We talked about the number of seats available counting to see if there was enough or how many needed to come off before we could get on. On arrival in London we went on a lovely sight seeing tour of all the landmarks hopping on and off at different points. Our bus drivers were very conscientious and took care of all the passengers as well as making sure there were no accidents.
On our return we all talked about what were our highlights of the London visit and added them on to our map.
We have heard all about the amazing things that David Attenborough has achieved in his life and the great achievement being 100 years old. We have been inspired by his nature explorations and conservation. We have been on nature scavenger hunts, further developed our insect habitats and been bird and animal spotting. We had a lovely barefoot walk feeling the ground just like the animals do describing the sensations the different areas provide. Happy birthday David
